The alchemist’s research paid off, and he celebrated a future where homunculi could enrich the lives of humans as their partners. However, he soon discovered that the friend he trusted had other intentions. He schemed with the king to use their homunculi in war, for which he was richly rewarded and appointed as the royal alchemist. ――Betrayal―― The alchemist confronted his friend. “Using homunculi in war will reduce human casualties. Lost in despair, he eventually found himself back in his hometown, which was a remote fishing village.
